New website, the year so far and BIG news.
First of all, WELCOME!! This is my brand new awesome website!!
It will be updated regularly with pictures, videos and of course this blog.
I wanted to do a quick recap of the year so far and then what’s coming up. We are only at the end of August but 2013 has been a very memorable year so far. Starting off with a bang back in January at PCA where I was announced the newest member of Pokerstars Team Pro, I’ve used this quote a few times and although it sounds a little cliché it really was and is a dream come true. I got off to a great start with a deep run in the main event and had two really fun and interesting hands against Robert Mizrachi which were recently aired on channel4’s EPT coverage in the UK. I managed to find the two clips on YouTube.
Even though he ended up calling the second one was my favourite mainly because its those moments in poker which make it so magical, the agony, the tension, the excitement… its why I love the game. It makes me feel a little better about losing that I get to re-watch the pain haha.
Overall it’s been a very successful year for a ton of reasons,
On the felt.
I made an EPT final table, a WSOP final table, won a UKIPT series event and cashed 4/4 10k events. Although a conversion in one of the majors would have been sweet I’m in no position to complain. However its impossible not to look back thinking what could have been.
Off the felt
This is where the big news is, much bigger than poker. I only found out last week and although it was a huge shock I am now overcome with excitement.
Me and my girlfriend Alex are having a baby!!!
We are 11 weeks and 1 day today, expected around the 23rd May.
I can’t deny that its scary, but everybody around us have been incredibly supportive. When I told my close guy friends I think they were even more excited than me, making long lists of ridiculous names (mainly they’re own) and suggesting ‘skills’ that they each have to pass on as uncles, two of them were playing guitar to pick up girls and to ‘sneak away’ if ever needed. They have been seriously awesome.
A very happy surprise.
Time does fly but so much has happened this year for me personally I can’t believe we are only approaching September. This week is EPT Barcelona one of my favourite stops, amazing city and another chance to get that elusive second EPT title. After that I’m planning to stay UK based for a while. WCOOP is coming up and I plan to play a lot of events, in Sunny Leeds! Also coming up is UKIPT/EPT London, and coming up before that I think id like to go and play GUKPT Manchester, the old stomping ground.
